De Koninklijke Nederlandse Astronomenclub, KNA, en de Nederlandse Onderzoekschool voor Astronomie, NOVA, willen meer aandacht geven aan havo- en vwo-leraren natuurkunde met interesse voor astronomie en astrofysica. In Amsterdam (Science Park - goed bereikbaar met het OV en de auto) wordt daarom een speciale dag voor die groep georganiseerd, op dinsdag 1 november 2022.

Op het programma staan lezingen door ter zaken kundige astronomen over de Gaia satelliet, de James Webb Space Telescope, zwaartekrachtsgolven, astrofysisch modelleren, en de ster Betelgeuze. Deze toplezingen zullen grotendeels in het Nederlands zijn en zullen ook tips en ideeën voor de lespraktijk bevatten. Daarnaast zal er gelegenheid zijn om een nieuwe show in het mobiele planetarium bij te wonen. De dag wordt afgesloten met een borrel.

Geïnteresseerde havo- en vwo-leraren zijn van harte welkom. Deelname aan de dag is kosteloos. Verzoeke de datum 1 november alvast te noteren - binnen enkele weken volgt nadere informatie, onder meer via www.astronomie.nl

The next annual meeting of the NNV Subatomic Physics section will take place in conference centre “De Werelt” in Lunteren, on Friday November 4th.

The programme will feature three plenary presentations from our field by Antonio Pellegrino, Juan Rojo and Samaya Nissanke, and an after-dinner presentation on Quantum Computing and Natural Language Processing by Henk Stoof (University of Utrecht). In addition, the meeting will offer a stage for the younger colleagues in the fields of nuclear physics, particle physics, astrophysics and astroparticle physics to present their work in parallel sessions.

An invitation to the meeting will also be sent to the full list of NNV Subatomic physics section members in early October. As the number of places is limited we encourage you to register at your earliest convenience.
